Can't copy passages on my eBook anymore

I purchased a few law books as I am busy with my law degree. 

Usually I was able to copy text off the book and paste it onto my personal notes in Word. 

Suddenly the programme does not allow me to copy anymore. 

I need help with this problem as soon as possible please.
