can t download any file.acsm

I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions on my MacBook Pro. Then I started downloading a file.acsm but can't download it and the following message appears and remains on the screen "contents downloading.."

I deleted the APP and re-downloaded Adobe Digital Editions but I got the same result.

Please could you suggest me a resolution?
