Can't get Adobe Digital Editions to open

I have tried to install Adobe Digital Editions several times today.  It appears to be installing and I can see that the directories have been created, but when I try to run the .exe file nothing happens.  I have uninstalled the program, re-booted, and tried again, but still no luck.  Any ideas?
