Can't open ADE - nextafterf dll trouble

Just installed Adobe Digital Editions for the first time on my Win 7 PC.

When trying to open the program I get an error message as submitted, and then it terminates.

A google search hinted that it was a conflict with the .net Framework 4.7.x, but rolling back has not solved it.

I can't access my ebooks at all now =\
