Can't open book which I've been reading and spent quite some money on

I have been reading a book which I bought recently for some £££ and now I can't open it anymore. the message "unable to open [name of book]" and "errors were encountered in this item" appear.

I can't find any help in the troubleshooting online. Any ideas?
