can't recover AdobeID after device switch / recover AdobeID from UUID?

Hi forum, 

I changed my ebook reader device and have trouble reading my DRM-protected ebooks after transferring them to the new device. It appears the old device was using an automatically generated AdobeID that belongs to a provider that is no longer supported by the new device. My trouble is that this ID is apparently not linked to an email, all I have is a UUID. What I would like to do is recover the AdobeID credentials for the "old" uuid, use those to link the new device to that AdobeID, and start reading my library. Any advice? I am happy to share more details.
