Can't transfer ebook to my Kobo touch. Adobe Digital Editions quits unexpectedly

Can anyone help?  Last time I asked this question someone said they would help but charge me.  I thought this was a community?

    There is a link under popular discussion to a thread about it crashing.  Towards the bottom there is a link to download an older version.  I just did this - kind of a hassle but I'm now able to read my book.

    I can't find the link.  I downloaded an older version but still can't transfer the ebook to my Kobo touch.  Seems others have same problem.  Lucky you.
