Cannot authorise computer

I need to use Adobe Digital Editions to view some ARCs from NetGalley. I need to authorise my computer, but when I click the menu entry to do this absolutely nothing happens. I can't even read the "Starting With..." document that came with the program.

As I said above, I do that and absolutely nothing happens.
