Cannot authorise google as vendor in ADE

Hi All,

I'm hoping that someone can help!

my ADE on my computer was authorised using my Adobe ID, and when I tried opening a book purchased via google play books I recieved this error

I suspected that it was because my adobe ID and my Google ID do not have the same email address and my ADE was only authorised with my adobe ID. So I de-authorised my computer and tried authorising using my google account but I keep recieving this error:

I have never encountered such an error, but the following page seems to have solved a similar case.
