cannot authorise kobo reader

Both myself and my wife have kobo e book reader I have recently purchased a new model and although it will download books from my wifes account it will not download from mine. It shows the message device not authorised but when I try to authorise it tells me it is already authorised.

It is very frustrating any help would be gratefully received.
