Cannot dCannot do anything after downloadig ADE on computer with Windows Vista and Chrome

I am 74 years old and only very familiar with MS word. I have published a book which the publisher has converted into an epub book for online publication. They have asked for editing of tables (is editing possiblew on the epub book?)

I have downloaded the ADE with Chrome (is it ok?) onb my computer with Vista but I cannot activate it, or authorize the computer (shows error each time, even on retry) or read my own book (how to transfer it to the ADE?) or download your sample epub books into ADE. .
