Cannot download ASCM book files from Google Play

I have purchased ebooks from Google Play,  I have Adobe Digital Editions.  It is authorised.  It has been reinstalled.  When I click Add to Library to add a book it takes me to the Downloads file where the books are but the books do not show up. They are there but invisible to ADE.  Actually only the ACSM files are invisible, the PDF files are visible.
