Cannot get ADE to load after installing

I can download and install ADE just fine, but when I try to start the program, I'm stuck on the Loading Library flash screen. This happens with versions 4.0.3, 3.0, and 2.0.1 (installed and uninstalled each with computer restarts in between). The Task Manager shows DigitalEditions.exe *32 in the Processes tab, and the Memory number is constantly changing, but the program never loads. What can I do to get this to work?

I am having this same issue.  if it does actually open if i try to click on my ereader it crashes too.. its really infuriating.  I have tried from ADE 2 and 3 kobo does not support ADE 4 i want to backload to 1.72.113
