Cannot install Digital Editions

Trying to install digital editions onto a PC with Windows 7. If I select to do it as "current user" it claims "unable to elevate to administrative rights, error 6;" if I try to do it as Administrator it asks for a password without specifying which of the hundreds of passwords I have I am to use. If I use the password for the Adobe account I recently created, it claims the information is not correct. Why should a simple installation be so complicated?

It will be Windows 7 asking for a password, which the password to the administrator account on Windows 7 you are trying to use.

Thanks, but that seems like a pretty obscure password, created, in this

case, some 4 years ago and used again since. Do you know how one finds

one's Windows 7 password?
