Cannot log into Adobe as my computer tells me there is an exisiting user already

I cannot log into Adobe as I am being told that there is already an existing user in place. Earlier my wife's Adobe account did not show any of the books that she had previously purchased, so I uninstalled Adobe Digital Editions, then re-installed the program. Now I cannot get back in. Please help.

Can you please share the exact error message?

Hi thanks for your email. I ended up uninstalling Abode Digital Editions and then downloaded a new version. It is now working fine.
