Cannot open purchased book on Digital Editions

Can't open purchased book on digital editions. Tried customer support online and via telephone but I am referred to the other one.  I would rather open the file in Reader.  Is that possible?

    Where did you purchase the book from, and what is the error it is giving you?

    I am pretty sure, I bought these books while in graduate school. Accordingly, I called the appropriate book store and they couldn’t help.
