Cannot remove highlighting or even "undo" what I did

I highlighted some text in Adobe Digital Editions and it is not giving me the option to remove that highlighting.  Any other program would allow me to just highlight it again, which would normally remove the highlighting.  But the stupid program just made the highlighting (that I didn't want) darker.  I went to hit "undo" and the button is greyed out.  This is an unbelievably incompetent product.  And of course, Adobe doesn't offer tech support, and this question has been asked by others with absolutely no answer.

    1. Different Highlighting Tool: Check if Adobe Digital Editions has a separate tool for removing highlights. Some applications have a specific eraser or clear tool for removing annotations like highlights.

    2. Try Different Keystrokes: Instead of clicking the "Undo" button, try using different keyboard shortcuts for undoing actions. On Windows, you can try pressing "Ctrl + Z," and on Mac, it's "Command + Z."

    3. Check for Updates: Make sure that you are using the latest version of Adobe Digital Editions. Sometimes, software updates include bug fixes and improvements.

    4. Highlight a Different Section: Attempt to highlight a different section of the text, even if it's just a single character. This might prompt the application to refresh the highlighting, potentially clearing the previous one.

    5. Export and Re-import: If all else fails, you could try exporting the document and re-importing it into Adobe Digital Editions. This might reset the highlighting and allow you to start fresh.

    6. Contact Adobe Support Community: While Adobe may not offer direct tech support for this particular issue, they do have a user community and forums where you can ask questions and seek help from other users who may have encountered similar problems.

    same problem here. disgusting. started using today, and seriously buggy, crashing, unresponsive...
