Cannot sync highlights & notes between Adobe digital editions on mac - Bluefire reader for iPad

Well the title pretty explains my whole problem. I am reading a book on mac and on my ipad when i am away from it. Turns out the highlights are not syncing. So basically i am having to re-highlight everything. Please help.
