Cant download anything since Dec 14 error! check activation???

Last time I downloaded successfully was Dec 14, starting dec 24 tried to download and had connection errors. uninstalled old version of Adobe Digital editions, restarted computer (win 8), downloaded newest version 4.5. activation/authorization is good as confirmed by adobe chat today, but everytime I try to download from my local online library to adobe digital editions for epub version I get Error! Check Activation.  Adobe chat services checked my account and said activation was good and no support is available except this forum. so, what is wrong???? something changed recently, I have been using this since 2012 then now since late Dec 2016 it won't work?  what do you mean no support except through forum? I am looking in forum and not many people are really getting answers to their questions.

    The same has happened to me and Adobe cannot seem to help. I also know someone else that cannot down load anything either. Is it just library books or ones you have also bought>
