Charging but nothing else

My Elonex E500 ebook will plug into my laptop and charge, but doesn't appear in Digital Editions any more. All my books and bookshelves are there, it just doesn't seem to be recognising my device any more. I've updated it to version 3 which has made no difference, anyone got any ideas of other things I can try? Thanks.
