You need to contact Adobe support and get them to reset your activation count.  General support can't do it. It's best to contact technical support through Chat. They can resolve it faster.

The technical support chat sent me to the forums.

You send me to technical support chat.

Every time I had this issue (more than once due to changes to my computer) I was able to contact Technical support chat and they were able to reset the activation count. The last time they did it for me was 2 days ago when I reinstalled my OS and Digital Editions. I'm sorry for the confusion. The only other thing I can suggest is to call the technical support number for your area. I hope it helps.
