Computer authorization error message using Windows 8

Hi all. When I go to authorize my computer which has Win 8, it doesn't work. I get a 'Connection Error' message. It says: "An error has been detected. Connection Error. Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet." I had no problem with my laptop that has XP. I was able to authorize and download my ebook with absolutely no problems. Is there a compatibility issue with Windows 8? Thanks so much. Any help greatly appreciated.

    No compatibility issue with authoization on Win8, at least not for most people.

    It could be your firewall, or maybe even the antivirus.

    Doubloe-check, or try with the firewall (temporarily) turned off.

    Just got around to messing with my Nook again. I uninstalled ADE then reinstalled it. Works like a charm. Thank you for your response.
