Computer hangs on authorization

Dear all,

After replacing a crashed hard disk I tried to reinstall DE under Windows 10 (as an administrator). DE gets installed, but it does not show up in the list of applications; I have added it manually, but I wonder if this is signalling that something is wrong in the installation.

The real issue is that my computer now hangs if I try to authorize it (with a valid Adobe id).

I would appreciate any help.
