Content Portability - transferring books from ADE on another computer

I bought a new computer and used my previous adobe id to download the new version of Adobe Digital Editions to this computer but none of my previous books have been transferred. Is there a step that I'm missing? I checked the FAQs but didn't find a specific answer.

Adobe Digital Editions cannot sync your books from one device to another. You have to manually transfer the books via mail or a media device.
