Copying to a Device. Endlessly in transfer mode

I'm trying to transfer a 26 page borrowed e-book that's 6.9 megabytes but it's taking a very long time to finish transferring. So far 20 minutes and still transferring. I tried restarting the transferring process, and this is the third time for me to attempt this. Whenever I do restart, it tells me the file is already on my device, do you want to replace it? I choose replace.

Still, there's no end in sight to the transferring process.

I'm working with Adobe Digital Editions, A Nook Color, and Windows 10.
