Cover displayed but all other pages blank

After a less than pleasant experience installing  ADE 4.5.10,   I clicked on the link  for the ebook provided by the bookshop   and the  book appeared to download and was listed in the library. However when attenpting to view  the book,  found that only the front cover was displayed and the remaining 186  pages were blank.   Have left thsi for a few hour now  in case there  was still content in transit, and have also restarted  everything, but no change in result. Have also  dowloaded a sample  ebook  ( sherlock adventures)   and can see all content.   All thsi is happening on a w Windows 10  Surface.  Whats the go?
