Device authorization greyed out

I am trying to authorize my Kobo Clara HD via Adobe Digital Edition. It finds my ereader, but when I click on the settings cog by the ereader, the option to "authorize device" is greyed out. as are the options of device authorization information, and erase device authorization.

Help! How do I authorize my device?
