Digital edition 4.5.4 not downloading

I am running Win 10 pro and have the latest version installed. On download if an EPUB book from my library the program after a while is not responding - i get the title and cover of the book but the number of days is not there.

I then checked out another book thinking that maybe the book was the problem. The next book seemed to download without a problem but the cover did not show on the borrowed book shelf - there was the name of the book and the number of days until it expires.

Neither book will transfer to my Nook. Here is a screen shot of my last try. First book is now showing the expiration days and the other one still is not showing cover page. neither will transfer to my Nook.
