Digital Edition ID won't work on my computer.

Hi.  I tried reinstalling ADE and found I could not use my existing ID.  I not only get an error message but the program freezes up. How can I get it to accept my Adobe ID and password, which are evidently still valid with Adobe for getting into this discussion forum.  Thanks.
