Digital Editions 3.0 problems with livestreaming video

After I downloaded Digital Editions 3.0, I couldn't watch my TV shows online.  I had to uninstall Digital Editions entirely to livestream video.  Adobe Chat Support was not able to suggest anything!  I would like to reinstall Digital Editions so I can view a book on my computer.  Can you help me figure out this glitch?  I have Windows 8 on my HP laptop.
