Digital Editions 3.0 won't LOAD

for the last two days, when I click on the icon to open Adobe Digital Editions ver 3.0 that I've been using for awhile now, it shows the "loading library" screen and sticks there... for over 8 hrs yesterday while I was at work

what should I do?
