Can't get digital editions to work.... activation problem

I try to initialize my new Kobo E-reader. Needed to download Adobe Digital Editions.

Then I tried to download a book from my Local Public Library. Did't work, because

something seemed to be wrong with my Adobe ID. Tried new password; still no respons.

What to do????

How to get my Adobe ID repaired????????????????
