Digital Editions 4.5.8 Hangs Opening Some epub Books

I have a number of books that have no digital rights restriction but when I try to open them ADE hangs.

I found a comment about renaming the library folder and starting again, but that has had no effect.

One of the books is Pro Git by Scott Chacon. I have tried re-downloading it repeatedly, the page is https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2  but have not been able to open it in ADE.

I can open it just fine in Microsoft Edge, but do not consider that a solution.

I have tried with installations of ADE on Windows 7 and Windows 10. On Windows 10 ADE stops responding. On Windows 7, latest install, I do eventually get an error message that there is an issue with the file, previously that also stopped responding.

I get the same problems with a number of other technical documents.

I have also tried to read the same document using ADE 2, and it worked perfectly.
