Digital editions and adobe id

I have installed DE. I want to authorize for a book loned from the public library. I want to authorize. In the screen I have to choose a supplier. I set it for Adobe Id. When I try to authorize.

I get the message incorrect ID/password for this supplier. I changed the password for my adobe Id to be sure (so I have to correct it on all devices for PS and LR) to b sure. And got the same message.

I too am having trouble using my Adobe ID to Authorize Adobe Digital Editions so I can check out a library book downloading EPUB from Overdrive.  I have already updated my password, and when I put in my Adobe ID and my password, I get this error message:  YOU CAN ONLY AUTHORIZE THIS COMPUTER WITH AN ADOBE ID THAT HASN'T BEEN PREVIOUSLY USED TO AUTHORIZE ANY OTHER COMPUTER OR MOBILE DEVICES.  PLEASE TRY AGAIN.  What should I do?  This makes no sense to me, and it's a very cumbersome program, in my opinion.

Resetting Adobe does not reset digital editions.  There is no option to reset digital editions password that I can find.

It also fails on my e reader. Can this be the same dobe id as CC ?
