Digital Editions error on the activation server

When i authorize my new computer with existing ID/password, received message that Digital Editions encountered error on the activation server.  help desk referred me to forum.

    I had the same problem and spent a long time scratching my head to find a solution. Out of desperation and a hunch I gave up with my wireless network and pluged my laptop into an ethernet cable. The computer got authorised straight away and now everthing works fine. I think my problem, as with most things nowdSo ays, is windows 10. Ever since I upgraded to the annaversary edition my browser has been so slow to connect that I get timed out a lot. I think the same thing is happening when ADE tries to connect to the Adobe servers. I never had this issue with windows 7.
