Digital editions is not seeing my Sony PRS-505 e-reader

Question

Am working with a laptop, Windows 2007. Installed Digital Editions yesterday - had been working on another computer with a much older DE version previously, but that one crashed and could not be recovered. Connected and turned on e-reader, laptop sees it fine. Can't get it to show in Digital Editions; but website says that DE supports Sony PRS-500 series? Gives me two problems:

- I have been unable to copy my existing books from the e-reader to laptop

- Can't transfer newly purchased books to e-reader

Help would be much appreciated!

Sony Reader have a own program Reader for PC. So very often Digital Edition and Sony Reader not right work. Haven you try it with the Sony program?
