Digital Editions to Adobe DC?

I love the 2 products. I thought that when the new DC came along that the Digital Editions would be phased out. So I merrily went about trying to move the books I had over to Adobe DC. Well if you knew my exploits with the computer you would know I was doomed to failure. I guess I am asking a fairly obvious ?, How can I get my ebooks back in my Digital Editions, because now after searching for my books I found a file with them in it?  No pictures of the books- just the titles, and no nice black background. How do I put them back in the Digital Editions?

    Right click on the ebook file > choose the option open with > chooose Digital Edition and activate the option that this software should used for this format.
