Digital Editions wile traveling without laptop?

In order to add and remove library ebooks through overdrive to my Kobo Aura, I must go through Digital Editions. since I will not bring my laptop with me wile traveling for a long period of time (1-2 years), how would you recommend borrowing and returning books on friends laptops and computers wile I am away? I understand the authorizations are not reusable when removed from one device; therefore, installing and authorizing on each computer has its limitations of maybe 5 uses.

Would I be able to run ADE from my hard drive on different machines?

Thanks for any responses. Leaving the country soon and considering bagging the adobe/kobo/overdrive mess and going with something else.
