Does ADE work on the new $50 Fire 7 tablets from Amazon?

I am thinking of buying one of the new $50 Fire 7 tablets from Amazon. Will ADE work on that to download ePubs and PDFs from my state library? The state library system uses lib.overdrive.com for lending digital books. Most of the books are available in Kindle format but some are not.

Note that the Fire 7 is different from the older Kindle Fire models, and apps that work on the Kindle models may not work on the Fire 7. Also, none of the Kindles or the Fire 7 have access to the Google Play store; instead, you have to download apps from the Amazon app store.
