Don't know what the unlock code is.

I have adobe digital editions on my pc and it is authorized; but when I try to open certain books in my library I get a screen that says the book needs my user name and " unlock code" to open book.    If the username and password for my adobe account don't work where do I get the " unlock code" and what username do I use?
