Downloading CS 5.5 Student and Teacher Edition - Previous iMac is not operational

Hello-

     I'm sure that this has been asked before but I can't seem to find it. My husband and I have just purchased a MacBook Pro because my college iMac from 2008 has completely died. I now need to download my copy of CS 5.5 Student and Teacher Edition onto the MacBook. I have my serial number. Where do I start? Do I need to somehow deactivate the software on my iMac? If so, how do I do this if I cannot even get it to turn on? Please help! I have some major projects that I need to work on.

Start software on the old device. Then go unter Help > Deactivation and deactivate your License. Then download and install new: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-5-product-downloads.html
