Hi,

I have a customer who's trying to download her ebook in ePub format on a Mac.

After helping her with another license error. Now she's getting this one:

"Error getting license. License server communication problem. E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT"

I don't think I have come across to this one before.

Any suggestions?

Much appreciated.

    Hello Adobe,

    Really need you guys' help.

I just puchased and downloaded a book for work purposes, and I need to read it today.

However, the app keeps on showing this "Error getting license" issue.

A lot of users have experienced this issue before. Can somebody fix it or at least tell us how to fix it from our end?

9 Years after the original message, and I am still getting the same and Adobe is doing NOTHING. Probably not even reading this.. So frustrated with Adobe.

Windows 10 & 11. Desktop and laptop. Tried to switch off firewall etc. No changes. Tried over several days. Does not work.

    Hello Adobe! Anyone home?

I have the same problem since Nov 12 … I have installed ADE 4.5.11 and macOS Ventura. I'm not able to open any file downloaded from Google Play with -epub.acsm extension, For Google people the problem is a problem with ADE … What should I do?

I got the same problem yesterday (12th of November 2022) on macOS Monterey and ADE 4.5.11.187606. This error is reported for all books I have tried, including books from Google Play AND books from the Adobe sample library.

Seeing the age of this thread, and knowing how long I have been railing against Adobe's seeming indiffernce to even the slightliest secured environment, I would not hold my breath waiting for Adobe to correct this.

The fix that worked for me -- I switched my network to my personal hotspot on my iPhone and docs downloaded without issue.

I have the same problem, too.

Our user has tried all of the following:

    • deauthorizing and reauthorizing the Mac
    • saving the .acsm file and the opening it,  instead of opening it straight away
    • downloading the book again

    His ADE version is 2.0.1.78765.

ADE is very good at incomprehensible error messages; also at comprehensible but incorrect ones.

I haven't come across this particular one either.

    One thing that solves quite a few issues is to use ADE1.7.2;

I have no idea if it will help here but worth a try.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.

(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
