On my e-Reader (Poketbook touch lux) is adobe digital editions allready installed, so I should be able to activate my books on the reader. When I open the acsm file it tells me that I have to activate my book. So I enter my Adobe ID and Password. Then he works a few moments and shows me this error:

E_STREAM_ERROR CURL returned 6 (6)

Does anyone know what I can do to be able avtivate my books on the e-reader?

Regards

Has anyone found a suitable solution for this issue? Now more than 10 years later, still having the same issue. On my Pocketbook e-reader, i am trying to activate Adobe DRM, and when i enter my Adobe ID and password, i am getting the following error message: 'Activation was failed (E_STREAM_ERROR: CURL returned 60 (3C)).' Any further suggestions? Thank you.

I have the very same problem 😞

In some other thread I read that this may be due to Adobe servers being overloaded.

I can't see much about this error on the web:

one comment is at http://www.topreviewshop.com/nextbook_next2_tablet_e_reader_conclusion

Just a thought, ADE and some ereader devices/apps do not like passwords that include special characters.

If you have anything other than non-accented letters and numbers in your password,

log in at the Adobe website and change the password to a weaker one.

Then try again to activate.

Most Adobe DRM books use your Adobe ID for authorization, but some use vendor IDs.

Usually you get a reasonably sensible message out of ADE if you need a vendor ID, but maybe not always.

You could check with the vendor if you need a special ID.

For example I just read that for B&N books:

ADE 2.0 finally added support for the B&N DRM.

The unlock code are the credit card number and name of the default credit card of your B&N account.
