Ebooks don't show on multiple devices Mac and iPad. What to do?

I am logged in with the same Adobe ID on my Mac and my IPad in Adobe digital editions. I was logged in on my Mac at the time I imported a purchase into ADE and later downloaded the app onto my iPad. Yet the library on the iPad stays empty. What to do?
