ebooks not in ADE Library View

When I download a epub format book from the library on my MacBook Pro it automatically goes into my Download folder.  I can then open the book in ADE but it is only visible in the Read view. When I click on the icon in the upper left corner to switch to Library view to drag the book to my Nook, the field is blank.  If I try to switch back to Read view the book is gone.  Suggestions?

    This is correct.  If you want it in your Library then while in the Library add it to your Library (Command-O).
