Ebooks won't open once transferred to Kobo. help please

I have tried downloading ebooks from the library to ADE and they seem to work then when I transfer to my kobo and try to open it i get this error "this document is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with you adobe ID. please sign in with the authorized adobe ID and try again"

I am signed in with my ID and was able to download it an open it in ADE. This has happened with every ebook lately
