Editions stopped working and now I can't reinstall so it will work.

Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 stopped working unexpectedly.  I restarted computer, tried to reinstall and also used chrome and internet explorer to reinstall.  Nothing appears to be working to solve my problem.  Any suggestions?
