EReader connection fail

I'm trying to get ADOBE digital to recognise my KOBO EReader - each time I try to authorise my device it says Activation Sever Error Code:  Digital Editions encountered an error on the activation server.  I have exhausted my options and even put reader back to factory settings to no avail - HELP!!
