ereader error: check activation

I got an ebook today from humankinetics.com, downloaded digital editions, authorized my pc to the account, and everytime I download the ebook and try to open it I get, "error:check activation" ....????

    Please try De-authorizing and Authorizing again, then try to open the book.

    The erase authorization and authorize computer options are both grey text

    and do nothing when I click on them.

    These menus will be disabled in reading mode of ADE. Switch to Library mode, by clicking the Library button and then try reauthorizing.
