Error #2038

I am getting error 2038 "i/o error on local file open" in my e reader section of adobe digital for books i have returned to the library in an incorrect manner. I have deleted them successfully from the actual reader but cannot get the files out of the adobe window for the reader. If anyone can provide me with a so;ution much appreciated.
